Xilinx is the first semiconductor company with a fabless model and is known globally as inventing the field programmable gate array, commonly known as the FPGA. The low cost Spartan® series have been retired. Hard Drives

Western Digital is one of the largest hard disk drive manufacturers in the world.  Products range from personal storage that is portable, internal, external and cloud to internal business storage.  Professional network attached storage that provides LAN nodes with file-based shared storage through a standard Ethernet connection.  Western Digital Foundation focus areas includes education, basic needs, civic and community support.  They have been involved in community grants, product donations as well as global disaster relief.

Seagate developed the first 5.25-inch hard disk drive (HDD), the 5-megabyte ST-506, in 1980.  Today, they are a dominating force in the HDD market.  Seagate produce both internal and external hard drives and accessories. NEC Display Solutions is a manufacturer of computer monitors and large-screen public-information displays, and has sold and marketed products under the NEC brand globally for more than twenty years. The company sells display products to the consumer, business, professional (e.g. financial, graphic design, CAD/CAM), digital signage and medical markets. The company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan-based NEC Corporation on March 31, 2005.
